2D Dimensioning

Lumafield’s suite of 2D dimensioning tools in Voyager enables teams to take precision measurements of the challenging geometries other tools struggle to reach. Engineers can virtually slice into their CT scans at any and every location and comprehensively inspect the quality of their parts with rapid, repeatable analysis tools. True positioning, tolerances, wall thickness, and more can be measured with both confidence and ease, regardless of internal part complexity. 

Paired with Lumafield’s easy-to-use CT hardware platform, Lumafield’s 2D dimensioning suite makes modern dimensioning tools easier to use and more scalable to apply than ever before. Multi-material assemblies, whose interfaces are often inaccessible from the outside and become compromised during destructive inspection, can be measured quickly and comprehensively. For example, complex electronics can be analyzed after assembly into their final housing. Medical device assemblies, where internal features are directly tied to function and patient safety, can be validated in their finished state. And the interaction of materials and parts in complex consumer packaged goods can be measured to ensure designs can withstand the rigorous demands of e-commerce shipping and real-world handling.

2D dimensioning works on any CT scan in Voyager. Pull a full-resolution slice from any location, mark the features you want to measure, and let the tool auto-detect lines, circles, peaks, and intersections. Manual refinement controls ensure each capture is exact. From those features, the full range of dimensional measurements can be extracted, giving engineers the evidence they need to make confident decisions about part quality. All results can be visualized and exported alongside the rest of your inspection data.
