Lumafield Launches Triton: High-Throughput Industrial CT Now Available for Production at Scale

Lumafield’s new system brings automated, non-destructive inspection to the factory floor—cutting scan times to 0.1 seconds and reshaping quality control across industries.

CAMBRIDGE, MA, May 8, 2025 — Lumafield today announced the full availability of Triton, its production-ready CT scanning system built for manufacturers who need instant, automated, and non-destructive quality control. Following a successful soft launch in November 2023, Triton is now deployed across industries and ready for broader adoption.

Triton pairs automated industrial X-ray hardware with Voyager, Lumafield’s browser-based analysis platform. Together, they deliver CT-grade internal inspection at speeds that match modern production lines. For the first time, manufacturers can integrate high-resolution 3D inspection directly into their workflows with minimal operator training and a dramatically lower cost structure.

Unlike traditional CT systems, which are expensive, slow, and complex, Triton is built for throughput. Lumafield’s Ultra-Fast CT, available exclusively on Triton, allows for complete scans in as little as 5 seconds per part, making it ideal for high-volume applications like first article inspection, failure analysis, and in-line quality checks.

Early adopters already include leading companies across the aerospace, automotive, medical devices, and consumer packaged goods sectors. Triton systems are currently:

  • Identifying porosity in aluminum castings for jet engines and powertrain components
  • Verifying assembly in medical injection devices and diabetes care systems
  • Diagnosing root causes of leaky cosmetic packaging and beverage can seam defects
  • Inspecting large injection-molded insulators for power infrastructure
  • Measuring seed quality in agricultural technology
  • Screening energetic materials for military-grade reliability

“Manufacturing happens in real time now, and Triton keeps pace,” said Eduardo Torrealba, Lumafield’s CEO. “It scans each part the moment it’s born, surfacing hidden flaws before the next cycle so engineers can tune the line on the fly. Quality isn’t an audit; it’s a live feedback loop driving production.”

Triton is powered by Voyager, Lumafield’s cloud-based analysis software that makes CT data accessible to anyone with a browser. Engineers can inspect parts, compare scans to CAD, automate defect detection, and collaborate in real time—no specialized hardware or training required.

Triton systems are available now in North America and Europe. To schedule a demo or learn more, visit lumafield.com/products/triton-production-ready-automated-ct-inspection.
