Assembly Verification

Confirm every component, interface, and seating without cutting anything open.

Assembly verification is one of the highest-stakes inspection problems in manufacturing. A finished assembly can pass every surface-level check and still contain a misaligned component, an improperly seated part, or an interface gap that only becomes a failure in the field. The cost of missing these defects scales with how far they travel: a misassembled drug delivery device that reaches a patient, a brake assembly that passes final inspection and fails in use, a connector that seats visually but not electrically.

Industrial CT gives engineers a complete internal view of an assembled product without disassembly or destruction. Every component position, interface, and seating condition is visible in three dimensions. Alignments can be measured against CAD. Missing or swapped parts are immediately apparent. The inspection record is digital, repeatable, and traceable.

Industrial CT allows for comprehensive component verification inside this epinephrine auto-injector to ensure that it has been assembled perfectly.
These 2D slice views reveal correct fitment of this pressure flow valve’s internal assembly within its cast metal housing.

Most assembly defects are not surface defects. They originate at internal interfaces, inside press fits and snap fits, at the seating plane of a gasket, or in the positional relationship between two components that are individually correct but wrong relative to each other. These are the failure modes that escape functional testing, evade visual inspection, and show up as field failures. CT catches them at the source.

Lumafield's platform applies CT-based assembly verification across automotive, aerospace, medical devices, and electronics, where the tolerance between a correct assembly and a dangerous one is often invisible to every other inspection method. A single inspection run produces a complete internal record: component positions measured against design intent, part count confirmed against the bill of materials, and every interface condition documented in three dimensions.

Misalignment

Components that are present but incorrectly positioned relative to each other or to CAD nominal are common in multi-part mechanical assemblies, connectors, and drug delivery mechanisms where positional tolerance directly affects function. CT measures every component position in three dimensions against design intent.

Missing, swapped, or added parts

Absent components, wrong-grade fasteners, and unintended inclusions are invisible to surface-level inspection. CT produces a complete internal part count and confirms every component against the bill of materials.

Improper seating and interface gaps

Parts that appear assembled from the outside but have not fully seated, sealed, or mated are among the hardest assembly defects to catch before failure. CT reveals the actual contact condition at every internal interface, including press fits, snap fits, and gasket compressions.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
